Hi my name is Kimberlie Formanack. I am 58 years old. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, one of four kids. I attended Providence High School and graduated in 1978. On New Year’s, 1980, I was the victim of an assault; resulting in serious head trauma & emergency facial reconstruction. I got married the following year, had a son, and struggled with a failing relationship until we split up. I became a young single mom working full time and sometimes working 2 jobs to raise my son. I have been a bookkeeper for 30+ years and became an Assistant Controller in 2004. I had a good life during that time and thought I'd met my soul mate, I married him in 2005 but shortly after we got married he started having Episode after episode of grand maul seizures. His doctors had changed his meds and couldn't seem to get him back on track. We had bought a home, a new car, and had great jobs. It seemed we were on top of the game before the seizures changed everything. I had to quit my job to care for my husband. He had sustained injuries during some of the seizures that ultimately caused his death. I lost my husband, my home, and hope. My life was in limbo. It was so hard to be ok when I wasn't; but I just kept plugging along, accepting huge wage sacrifices just to keep a roof over my head. Last year while I was working for a fire and flood company I became sick more often than ever before. I suffered multiple ear infections that were never completely cured and started suffering hearing loss and ringing in my ears. The company’s warehouse was below my office and there were several containers storing contents from homes that had flooded. Many of the containers had items that had molded. The contents were often staged and cleaned in the area just below where my desk was located and I often would pass through the space while the moldy contents were being staged to see what could be salvaged. Containers often stood open with dry mold spores, exposing all in the area to the toxins. During the last year at this company, I had difficulty concentrating; my mind wasn't as sharp as it use to be. My thought process became kind of scrambled, foggy similar to how I felt while rehabbing from that head trauma I had suffered back in 1980. I had gone to therapy for that incident and the Psychologist prescribed me several medications that had sent me spiraling and I learned meds were not the solution or an option for me. I saw a post on facebook for ENSELE and Biofeedback and contacted them. Once I met Selene I felt in my gut that this therapy might be able to help me. Because of my recent illnesses I am currently disabled and financially strapped, barely surviving. This is why I'm here now. Selene is allowing me an opportunity to become sponsored to help pay for my sessions. I've been asked to tell you my story in the hope that the attendees see the value and the need for their support for people like myself. You see, I am a Grandma now and sure would love to live a long healthy life allowing me to be a vital part of my Granddaughter’s life. My mental well being is crucial to my survival as I stand on this planet basically alone, looking after myself. I haven't been able to work as much as I would like to because of this. It causes exhaustion and like I mentioned extreme physical pain. When I tried the infrared lights for a couple of months, I found that they worked, but the pain would return. I came to the understanding that in order for me to heal, I would need to use the infrared lights every single day. Because of my finances I have been unable to purchase or rent them. I am seeking sponsorship if someone would kindly be able to pay for me to be able to use the infrared lights on a daily basis to rent or purchase the machine.
